A New Addition to the Family!
Friday April, 20th was a special day for most people in the greater Boulder area, but for Matt and I it wasn’t due to the lingering aroma of hippies, yuppies, and wannabe hippies and yuppies. Instead we bought our very first car together. How adult is that? Very. We are now parents to Stella the Subaru Outback 3.6R Limited in Sky Blue Metallic. She’s a rare lady who likes to spend her days blasting the radio with the sunroof open, taking hairpin turns in the mountains, and sitting for eye candy on Pearl Street.
Today Matt and I took her down to Colorado Springs to see my parents. After some kudos, we drove down to Helen Hunt Falls so she could get her tires dirty. We knew she probably wanted to take Upper Goldcamp, but two day olds don’t need that much excitement in one day. She is a blast to drive, although doesn’t enjoy going 35mph, 45mph, or 55mph very well and insists on rounding up.
Stella has some big plans ahead of her. We would like to take her to see the Tetons, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Park eventually. Of course there is plenty to see all over Colorado. Maybe some Telluride Bluegrass Festival, rafting down the Arkansas, and camping in RMNP.
Was that enough personifying of a vehicle? Can you tell that we are excited to have something built in this decade? We are especially excited for a car that can fit tall people comfortably. Matt tends to look like he is wearing a car but this one is just right!
